- Which snowmobile safari is suitable for beginners?
- Nice and Easy is our shortest introduction, around two hours. Into the Wilderness is a good next step at around four hours.
- Do I need a driving licence for a snowmobile?
- Yes — a valid car driving licence is required to drive a snowmobile in Finland.
- Can children join a snowmobile safari?
- Children can join as passengers on the snowmobile. Age and participation rules differ by experience — check the experience page or ask us.
- How long is a full-day husky tour?
- Our standard full-day husky tour runs roughly 5–6 hours and covers around 35–40 km.
- Can I book a private safari in Ylläs?
- Yes. Use the Private & Group Safaris enquiry form and we will discuss what is possible for your group and dates.
- What should I wear on a winter safari?
- Warm layers, a windproof outer layer, hat, gloves and sturdy winter boots. We provide thermal outerwear where needed.
- Are transfers included?
- Snowmobile, snowshoe and skiing experiences start at the Safari House in Äkäslompolo. Husky safaris include a transfer to the kennel in Luosu.
- Can beginners book a cross-country ski lesson?
- Yes — our 90-minute ski school has three levels, starting with first-time skiers.
- Where is Q5 Safaris located?
- Tiurajärventie 27, FI-95970 Äkäslompolo, Finland — next to Hotel Ylläshumina.
- Can an experience be adapted to the weather?
- Yes. Routes and timing are planned around the day's snow and weather conditions.
- Are the northern lights guaranteed?
- No. We never guarantee the northern lights. Nature decides, and so do the conditions.
